AXXIS DRILLING was founded in January of 2000 by Robert P. Dunn. The prime driver behind the founding of the Company was the recognized need for newer, more up-to-date equipment in the inland marketplace. The vast majority of the drilling barges currently operating are well over twenty years old.

As a result, the new-build Barge INDEPENDENCE was commissioned in June of 2002 and has performed extremely well since that time. In addition, AXXIS added a second barge to the fleet in April of 2003.

The management of AXXIS DRILLING brings many years of inland and overseas drilling expertise to the table. The Company also provides overseas labor to a new-build Jack Up Unit working in Mexican waters.
